Established by Chris Tonkin in 2004 after the grain industry was deregulated, Ten Tigers was born out of Chris’s firm belief that he could challenge the norm by introducing innovative systems to benefit growers in Western Australia.

Chris Tonkin
Director
Chris grew up on a family farm in Coomberdale, WA, and has been immersed in the grains industry since 1995. With experience in research, sales, marketing, and consultancy, he founded Ten Tigers in 2004 to specialise in grain marketing advisory and to give back to the community.
An Authorised Representative (AR No. 290288) of AFS License 329063, Chris is also a devoted Phantom fan who loves hockey and traveling with his children.
Ken McCartney
Client Manager
Ken, a Geraldton local from a long line of farmers, joined Ten Tigers as a grain marketer in 2018. With a Bachelor of Commerce and CPA, he shifted from accounting to follow his passion for the grains industry. A dedicated AFL fan, he also enjoys playing football and guitar in local bands.
Corey Lee
Client Manager
Corey, hailing from Newdegate, brings extensive grains industry experience to the team. With a Bachelor of Business from Muresk and a background working on farms, he's a valuable asset to Ten Tigers - blending marketing expertise with agricultural insight. After making the move to Jurien Bay can be often seen out on his boat or playing golf.
Carmel Westbrook
Office Manager
Carmel started with Ten Tigers in 2016, with roots in Grass Valley and Cadoux, she brings diverse experience from veterinary, banking, and agriculture sectors to Ten Tigers. Carmel keeps the wheels turning with her passion for strict deadlines and attention to detail. A dedicated team player, she also enjoys involvement in local sports clubs and getting away in her caravan.
Mel Salter
Administration Assistant
Mel, a Geraldton local and former Veterinary Nurse, brings her passion for agriculture and meticulous attention to detail to Ten Tigers. When she’s not working, Mel enjoys outdoor adventures with her two dogs.
Chris Teakle
Data Analyst
Chris, originally from Northampton, studied Science Education at UWA and taught Maths in high schools and at TAFE for several years. After transitioning from teaching to database design and running her own successful business, Chris joined Ten Tigers in 2018 - expanding into data analysis and web development. Beyond work, she delights in grandmotherly pursuits like sewing for her grandchildren.
Jack Treasure
Graduate Grain Marketer
Jack started as a Graduate Grain Marketer with Ten Tigers in 2024. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and honours in finance. With experience in logistical management and banking, Jack transitioned to agribusiness and grain marketing. He grew up as a Perth local, playing footy and indoor cricket while supporting the mighty St Kilda.
